Most Christians and the world believe that Jesus (Yeshua) was a real historical person. He claimed that he was the son of God, a statement most Christians accept as fact. However, most Christians don't know that Yeshua is not only the son of God, but that he is also the God represented in the Old Testament. To accept this as fact would seem to create a conflict in theological doctrine, i.e., how can he be the son and the father at the same time.
The following scriptures are presented to demonstrate that the personage we know as God the Father is not the same person represented throughout the Old Testament. That person is actually Yeshua (Jesus) or Yahweh.
In John 5:37 we have this quote from Yeshua:
"And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form."
In other words, Yeshua is stating that no one has ever truly seen or heard the Father, this despite a number of Old Testament (hereafter OT) scriptures which state the contrary:
Gen 32:30; Ex 24:9; Num 11:25; Dt 4:33 and 5:24-26 and 18:16; Is 6:5
The Father is only vaguely acknowledged in Genesis Chapter 1, a la the Trinity, but from Genesis 2:4 onward, the person of the God Head manifested throughout the rest of Old Testament is the “LORD God” or Yahweh (compare Exodus 3:15).
The following scriptures (taken from the NASB) will point to the evidence of Yahweh and Yeshua being one in the same. In other words, Yeshua is the human incarnation of Yahweh.
"That Rock was Christ..." 1 Cor 10:1-4 [10:1] For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. [2] They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. [3] They all ate the same spiritual food [4] and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.
Comment: The Rock mentioned numerous times throughout the OT, known to be Yahweh is here pronounced by Paul to be Christ.
"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem..." Luke 13:34 [34] “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, just as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not have it!
Comment: Yeshua here makes a comment as in reflection expressing a past tense viewpoint that only could be made by Yahweh, the God of OT Israel.
